While renting an apartment has unique benefits over renting a home, homes do allow you to simply open the back door whenever your pet needs to go outside. Apartments require a bit more consideration, and developing a bathroom routine is one of the best ways to help your dog adapt to your new living situation. Train them to go in certain areas around the building, and always make sure that you’re picking up after them
If you have cats, try to place their litter box in an isolated area of the apartment. This allows them to feel more comfortable about using the space, and it can also keep your main living areas smelling fresh and clean.
If you’ve ever lived underneath noisy neighbors, then you know just how frustrating it can be to hear them stomping and clomping around at all hours of the day. While it’s unlikely that your pet’s footsteps will make as much noise as a tenant, you should consider that your downstairs neighbors probably don’t want to hear your pet playing and running around the apartment throughout the day.
